Open House Planned at State-of-the-Art Vein Clinic and Medical Spa

Old Lyme, CT, March 31, 2007 – The Shoreline Vein Clinic and Medical Spa will host an Open House event to which the public is invited on Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The clinic, recently relocated from Old Saybrook, is celebrating its new location at 4 Huntley Road, Suite 1, in Old Lyme, with a wide array of expanded offerings.

Dr. Jeffrey Goldblatt, the facility’s Medical Director, is a general and vascular surgeon who maintains a practice in Norwich.  Dr. Goldblatt, a specialist in minimally invasive, effective, and safe elimination of varicose and spider veins, has completed over 3,000 successful vein procedures.  Most of these procedures do not require hospitalization, and many are covered by major health insurance plans and can be performed on a convenient walk-in, walk-out basis.

Besides varicose and spider vein treatments, the Shoreline Vein Clinic and Medical Spa offers many other services that employ the latest techniques utilizing elos technology.  These new offerings include laser hair removal for men and women, skin rejuvenation to repair uneven skin tones, microdermabrasion to smooth skin texture, skin tightening to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and cellulite treatments to reshape body tissue.

The 2,500-square foot facility in Old Lyme has been custom-designed and appointed with state-of-the-art equipment in a relaxed home-like setting.  “It’s a beautiful interior with wood floors, comfortable sofas, and soft lighting.  It’s actually much more like a living room than a doctor’s office,” says Joanie Barnes, Medical Spa Administrator.

During the Open House, visitors will be able to tour the facility and view demonstrations of the equipment.  Elos, which combines laser or intense pulsed light and radio frequency, enables the treatment of a variety of skin disorders with little or no discomfort.  Another is a computer imaging system that will capture images of patients and then analyze their skin. “We want to be sure our patients are happy with their progress,” says Barnes. “This equipment enables us to share quantitative information about that progress with them each time they come for a treatment.”

The new facility represents a natural progression, according to Barnes.  “We get a lot of referrals from Dr. Goldblatt’s vein patients,” she says.  “They’ve had successful vein procedures and now they want to take further steps toward an increased sense of self-confidence.”
